Meet our certified instructors
Jillian Hardwick, a Huntington Beach native, is a pre-med BA Dance-Science major from California State University Long Beach. In 2009, Jillian fractured her back dancing at CSULB and Pilates became her main form of rehabilitation. After seeing first-hand the impact Pilates can have on the body, Jillian went on to get her Pilates Certification plus Dance Specialization through Body Arts and Science International (BASI), studying directly under Karen Clippinger. In March 2012 Jillian bought HB Pilates and has since dedicated her life to sharing her passion and the life changing benefits of Pilates and fitness with others.
Jillian is also a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS), and Certified Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS), through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Jillian has worked with clients from children up to 100 years old, literally! She has also worked with professional athletes, including clients in the NFL and MLB, and clients both pre and post-surgeries, including but not limited to: full/partial knee and hip replacements, full knee reconstructions, shoulder surgeries and reconstructions, spinal surgeries and fusions, open heart surgeries and valve replacements, kidney replacements, hysterectomies, vasectomy’s, and cesarean sections, and has worked with clients after having experienced cancer, chemotherapy, brain tumors, strokes, and more.
In January 2015 Jillian collaborated Anisa Boscia and co-wrote and published Fat Crushing Recipes: 27 Secret Meals to Weight Loss- to show her clients healthier versions of their favorite at home recipes and to make sure they always had access to quick, simple, on-the-go meals & snacks to keep up with the fast past world we live in.
Jillian has over 20 years of dance experience and enjoys such activities as: cycling, running, Pilates, weight-training, snowboarding, playing the piano and the guitar, hanging with her rescued pup, and anything outdoors. Jillian thrives on helping people improve their quality of life through functional fitness and Pilates and enjoys educating her clients along the way as to why specific exercises and lifestyle recommendations are important as well as how they can help improve their quality of life and day-to-day living. Whether they are looking to tone-up, run a faster marathon, lose weight, be able to pick up and chase their grandkids around, play golf pain-free, or simply sit and stand from a chair without assistance, Jillian is happiest when she is able to help her clients improve their quality of life.
In June 2013, Jillian rode her bicycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles (545 miles) with AIDS/LifeCycle. The organization raised over $14.2 million dollars that year, and with the support of her family, friends and HB Pilates & Fitness clients, Jillian was able to personally raise over $10,000 for cause. Jillian is a firm believer in paying it forward, and with the help of HB Pilates & Fitness she gives back to her community as often as she can.
Madison is a graduate from Cal State Long Beach with a BA in Dance Science. Her heavy involvement in dance growing up encouraged her in the direction of Pilates to help facilitate her dance training. She fell in love with Pilates just after her first mat class with HB Pilates and knew that it was something she wanted to continue and eventually share with other people. She received her classic Pilates training with a dance specialization through Body Arts and Sciences under the tutelage of Karen Clippinger. Madison believes in the benefits of Pilates, and loves that all types of people from the novice clients to the elite athletes can do it and experience the benefits for themselves. She is so excited to be working for HB Pilates now; the place where her Pilates journey began!
Holly Brazney is a Body Arts & Science certified Pilates instructor and National Academy of Sports Medicine certified Personal Trainer. She is also certified to teach specialty training such as TRX, Kettle Bell, BOSU, and PILOXING. Holly was born and raised in Huntington Beach. She started ballet and jazz when she was eight years old and considers dance to be her first passion. One of Holly’s first jobs was teaching ballet to kids and she continued to teach dance and choreograph for local studios for over 10 years. Holly is also very passionate about running. She has completed the Surf City Half Marathon and the Malibu Half Marathon, and she enjoys running the HB 4th of July 5K and at least one Mud Run every year. Nutrition is a huge part of Holly’s life. Diagnosed with Celiac disease (an autoimmune gluten intolerance) and Hoshimotos Hypothyroid, Holly has had to learn how to eat for her body. Diet is one of Holly’s least favorite words, after all the first 3 letters spell die! She would much rather her clients focus on eating to feel their best, and that means cutting out the processed junk and focusing on whole foods that your body can actually use as fuel. In 2012 Holly married the love of her life, whom she had known since she was 13 years old. She loves that her husband, Mark, is so active. He enjoys surfing, soccer, and golf, but Holly can still kick his butt in a cardio barre class. They are now expecting a baby girl and are looking forward to the new adventure of being parents. “Passion and consistency must come before change and results.” ~ Holly

Lisa grew up a competitive track and tennis athlete in the valley. After getting married and becoming a mother, she decided to further explore her interest of health and nutrition. Experimenting with recipes and trying various fitness classes, Lisa knew with certainty she wanted to pursue her passion and build her career in health and fitness.
As a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT) and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), Lisa trained clients in Los Angeles ranging from young adults to active seniors. Furthering her education, Lisa became certified in Fitness and Sports Nutrition so that she could then educate her clients on the importance of proper nutrition.
After relocating her family to Orange County, Lisa continued to train clients and stumbled into her first Pilates class as a client at HB Pilates & Fitness. After taking one Pilates Mat class, Lisa was hooked! Lisa loved the versatility of the movement, the mind-body connection and how Pilates allowed people of all ages and backgrounds to move safely and pain free while improving their balance, posture, strength, and overall well-being. Lisa knew all of her clients would benefit immensely from what Pilates had to offer as she was already learning so much. While continuing to explore her fascination with the movement of Pilates, Lisa began teaching Stroller Workout classes with HB Pilates & Fitness. With the encouragement of Jillian, and the HB Pilates team, Lisa decided to pursue her education again by studying to become a Certified Pilates Instructor, through well renowned Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI), studying directly under Rael Isacowitz.
Lisa loves to spend time with her family and her new dog Lucy. You can find her cheering loudly at her boys’ baseball and soccer games. She loves the beach, visiting museums, racing go karts, lifting weights, eating chocolate, and of course practicing Pilates!
As a certified Senior Fitness Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Lisa looks forward to working with clients at the Senior Center in Central Park. Through her experience and education, Lisa looks forward to sharing her knowledge with clients to help them improve their quality of life through confidence, strength, awareness and safe movement.

Katrina is an upstate New York native and has always been physically active throughout her life. She started playing soccer in 2nd grade, all the way up to 11th grade; and played just about every other sport possible throughout her teenage years. During college, Katrina missed the feeling of being part of a team, the feeling of connectedness. Workouts were a hit or miss during her busy schedule of working towards completing two Bachelor degrees and working two jobs. One thing she always noticed during that time period was her shallow and short breathing. She felt the stress of college building up within her muscles and bones, the busy chatter of her thoughts clogging her mind. Once college ended, Katrina’s journey of yoga began in her bedroom, as she began to watch Tara Stiles YouTube videos. Katrina joined a gym and slowly began to participate in the Yoga classes they had to offer. Tri-pod headstand was one of the poses she was unable to get into it. Katrina, determined as always told herself you are going to get into that pose one day; and she did about 3 years later. Right before moving to California from New York, Katrina found herself in a heated Bikram Yoga class and fell in love. The practice of Yoga was something that took ahold of Katrina, she could feel it within her soul, she finally found the connection she was looking for. The connection from within. She never looked back.
Katrina moved to Orange County in August of 2013. She actively began to search for a Yoga studio close to her apartment where she could begin her practice. The wonderful staff and students at a local Yoga studio welcomed Katrina with open arms and hearts. Katrina started with Bikram Yoga but was always curious about the classes in the other room, the Vinyasa classes. She slowly started to take more Vinyasa classes. Katrina felt the mind, body and spirit benefits of the practice and knew this was something she was meant to share. She had found her breath again. She was like a Yoga cheerleader, always sharing the practice with her friends and family, in the case they mentioned any type of ailment. Katrina continued to actively learn and develop as a student and by September of 2015, Katrina began teacher training and graduated in November 2015 with a RYT-200 in Vinyasa Flow. Katrina continued her education and participated in a 40 hour mentorship; shortly after teacher training, where she was able refine her skills, teaching live classes round robin style. In February 2016, Katrina completed a 10 hour Yin Yoga certification. Katrina loves to give back to the community; as she has taught at homeless shelters in DTLA, where she introduced Yoga to the residents. Katrina currently teaches at Yoga studios throughout Huntington Beach.
